Before Help ArrivesBefore Help Arrives
Wednesday- May 16, 2012- 3:30-5:30PM
Should I call an ambulance? What hospital will they take me to? Can I do anything before the ambulance arrives? These are just a few questions often heard from community residents. Calling 911 for a medical emergency becomes a stressful event for many people. Knowing when and how to access the local emergency medical services (EMS) system becomes a crucial step in summoning rapid, advanced, and compassionate care.
The presentation answers these questions and provides valuable insight into the local EMS system. In addition, the presentation provides tips for dealing with emergencies prior to the arrival of EMS and other first responders.
This informative program is presented by Michael Liverzani who serves as the Ambulance District Administrator for the Town of Mamaroneck. The Town of Mamaroneck Ambulance District coordinates paramedic service in the Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Larchmont, and Village of Mamaroneck. Mr. Liverzani has over twenty-five years of experience as a paramedic, is a former fire chief, and current active firefighter with the Weaver Street firehouse.

Russia's FutureRussia's Future
Wednesday- June 20, 2012- 3:30-5:30
Russia is full of surprises. No one expected that small group of revolutionaries in St. Petersburg could take over the entire country in 1917, or that the stolid Soviet system we all grew up with could evaporate in a few days in 1991. What does the future hold for Russia, now that Vladimir Putin is facing perhaps the greatest organized political opposition in Russian history? And with the end of the Cold War, how much does it matter? Is Russia re-emerging as one of the world's most important political, economic and military powers, or is it fading into the role of a second-class nation with little influence beyond its borders?

The Earth As Seen From Space The Earth As Seen From Space

So much has happened in our lifetime to revolutionize our understanding of the earth. This will be discussed as well as tracing our ability to view, record and model our planet and its environment from "flatland" to the air and to space.
